SASSCAL, as the lead of the WeMAST consortium, is hosting a Special Session on WeMAST Capacity Development at the WaterNet Symposium. WeMAST is funded by the GMES and Africa Support Programme, in initiative of the African Union and the European Commission.
Some of our WeMAST funded students will be presenting their work during a Special Session.
The SASSCAL Executive Director, Dr Jane Olwoch will open proceedings. The session will continue with an address by the WeMAST work package coordinator of capacity development, Dr Kawawa Banda, from UNZA. After students have presented their work, a panel of experts will deliberate the necessity and benefits of regional capacity development support through collaborative research. The panelists will include Dr Jane Olwoch, SASSCAL Executive Director, Prof Piet Kenabatho, from UB, Dr Thomas Marambanyika, from MSU, and Mr Kevin Stephanus, SASSCAL Professional Specialist for Human Capacity Development.
We look forward to active discussions and hope you will be there to contribute.
